My friend Susan has a knitting shop in Ely called Sisu Designs. She's been running the shop for 30 years, and before that, the building belonged to her grandfather who ran a tent repair shop. Sisu is a Finnish word, pronounced with a short "i", meaning perseverance during hard times.
I've been helping out in the shop a little since returning to Ely. I love being there. It's not like any other yarn shop I've been in.
