Grass Hoppers and Shasta

Last night we had a great time at the end of the summer pot-luck held at the forest service headquarters.

The party featured a ton of games for kids, including a ring-toss, a sandbox filled with coins, an obstacle course, and an egg toss. One of the sweetest games, however, just had to be the impromptu grass hopper hunt.

I was working at the library until 6 p.m., so I didn't make it to the party until near the end. Even though all of the deserts were gone by the time I got there, I am glad I went: this morning, Jack was still going on about how much fun he had - and wondering when we were going to let him open the bottle of Shasta he won in the ring-toss.
