Not one. Or two. Or even three.

Four. Four little girls' shrugs.

Lately I have been knitting little girls' shrugs. It all started when I decided to knit one for Anika

And then I decided another one would be just perfect for Sunniva

Then, I thought: well, what about Adelyn?

And once I had gone that far, I could hardly forget Addie, could I?

I don't usually knit clothes for babies because they just grow so darn fast. I made Anika's shrug in the smallest possible size because she is barely two months old. The others I knit one size up, just to be safe.

For some inexplicable reason, one of the bigger shrugs turned out even larger than planned, even though everything about it - the type of yarn, the needles, my gauge - was exactly the same as the other two.

I saw Anika the other night and it is going to be a long time before she grows into her shrug. Yep - hers is the one that was knit in the smallest size. Which means the other shrugs are going to be way too big. I guess it's easy to forget just how tiny babies are when your baby is four years old.

That's okay. Really. It just means I've got plenty of time to get to the post office.
