Well, Daisy is gone. She went back to the Humane Society yesterday. She had started nipping at Jack a little while back, and it finally got to the point where we didn't feel like we could trust her. Having a dog around is just not worth having to worry about your kid's safety.
Poor Daisy. She was a nice girl and we are really going to miss her. I cried most of the way to Virginia, and then when I actually got to the Humane Society the waterworks really started. I was completely spent by the time I got back to Ely. At least the folks at the Humane Society were understanding about it. They also told me that they did not euthanize animals there, which I did not know. I had been really worried about her prospects - due to her age - but they assured me that they would find her a good match.
But that's it for the dog idea. What has this been - the fourth dog in three years? I give up. Maybe when Jack is a lot older, but for now I am done with the dog-based heartache.

Oh, Daisy was sweet, but she needed to protect herself from wild & crazy Jack! Can't always hide under the table. I hope she finds a place where she feels safe. And Jack still has all the nice knit animals you make for him!
Love,
Sue B.(is for Brennan)
Thanks, Sue. I am sure you are right, but we DO miss her. I sure hope she has a home by now.
I'm glad you reminded me about the knit animals for Jack - there is one tuck away somewhere that I have been meaning to finish!
