Looking Forward to Getting Lost

I'm not done with my summer recap yet, but I need to take just a moment to focus on the present.  Fall is here and it seems all I really want to do is knit, so I've been working on a pair of charcoal grey cable knit legwarmers.  Now, I know there are plenty of people out there - even knitters -  who think "Legwarmers?  No way.  Too 80's."  But me, I live where it gets cold and I think legwarmers used with caution make perfect sense.

Unfortunately, my knitting enthusiasm has caused my carpel tunnel to flair up, so I'm shifting my focus to sewing.  The next Lost in the Woods knitting retreat is only a couple of weeks away, and I'll be putting together some new skrapyram knitting needle cases for the event.

I can hardly wait to see what all of those amazingly talented knitters have been up to.  Plus, Anna Shallman has selected several wristlet patterns for us to work on if we choose, and Ellen Silva has put together a new button hat pattern.   Not able to join us at the retreat?  Ellen has made the pattern available as a free download here.  Thanks, Ellen!  I really love the use of buttons on this pattern.

I know that I will wear them everyday this winter. That is, once I get them finished!
