Made on the Range

For those who live in or visit Northeastern Minnesota, there is a new resource for shopping locally: The Made on the Range website.

This is a great development for everyone in our area, with more businesses being added to the website all of the time.  skrapyram is proud to be part of the excitement - in fact you can find one of my cell phone bags right there on the front page. Many of my other favorite businesses are listed, too, including Sweetgrass Trading Company and Raven Productions.

"The Knitter" by Betsey Harries of Sweetgrass Trading Company

In today's global marketplace, we have so much to choose from that we can literally find anything we want.  But it's also nice to discover that the things we want are being produced by friends and neighbors right in our own area.

Plus - according to the Made on the Range website - for each $1.00 that you spend on locally purchased items at independent businesses, $0.68 of it remains in the local and state economy. When you buy local from Minnesota-based entrepreneurs and neighborhood retailers, there’s a better than even chance you are helping Minnesota’s environment as well as the local economy.

I hope you'll check out the Made on the Range website and tell all of your friends.  And if you are an entrepreneur in NE Minnesota, please look into adding your business to the site and help spread the word!  The address is http://madeontherange.com
