A New Record

About a month ago, we quietly passed somewhat of a major milestone: We have now lived in the same geographic location for over 12 months. In fact, we have lived in the same house for over 12 months. That is a record for us - we haven't stayed in one place that long since we lived in Oregon! And, it's kind of ironic since we only planned to stay in this house a month or two. Oh, well. Unless this house sells we will probably stay here until our house is finished, which isn't going to happen any time too soon.

In terms of the Homestead, we are still plugging along. We discuss the house plans almost every day, and Scott has been busy getting our ideas on paper. Soon he will turn his drawings back over to the architectural draftsman, who has already done up at least two sets of drawings for us. We are finding it quite challenging to design our own home. Once you know the exact location, there are a lot of factors to consider - views, the path of the sun, etc. But, I think we are almost ready. We did finally call the excavator to put or money down and get on his list, but unfortunately, he is on vacation.

Jack, Jack, Jack. What can I say? He talks - in sentences. He is hilarious and he makes me so happy. He loves going to church, which is why I found myself teaching Sunday school last week. That is something I never imagined I would do, but here I am: doing it for Jack. He's been going to "school" one morning a week, and he loves all of the activities there but hates it when I try to leave. Daycare is a different story: He adores his daycare lady and all of the kids there. In fact, he often asks to go there on his days off.

Uma is still fitting in great, in fact it just gets better all of the time. She is warming up to us and starting to come out of her shell. She truly doesn't mind Jack's antics, and in fact she seems to appreciate them. We really got lucky when we found her! Here is a photo of her in our front yard, taken just the other day. Yes, we really do have that much snow in March!

I just want to tell you that the "tiny little pillow" that I bought from you at Susan's retreat is one of my very favorite possessions. It feels wonderful and looks wonderful. When I can I am going to purchase one of your knitting bags.
Thank you for your soul soothing work!
