Knitting when I should be sewing

About six years ago - before I started to sew - my friend Erika taught me how to knit. I took to it immediately and have been a serious knitter ever since. In fact, I am one of those people who even knits in the summer, when others say "it's too hot to knit". Crazy, I know, but I love it.

Last winter, when I should have been sewing, I was obsessively knitting a pair of cable rib socks. I just couldn't stop thinking about them. That is, until it was time to weave in the loose ends. Then, the socks conveniently slipped to the bottom of my knitting bag while I went back to the sewing machine.

Well, recently I got out the tapestry needle and finished the socks. The Pattern is by Erica Alexander and I found it in the Spring 2005 issue of Interweave Knits.

I've started another pair of socks - this time I am working on lace knee-highs. Even though it's summer and I should probably be sewing.
