Low Rider

Also back in May, we passed a family milestone:  Jack's transition from tricycle to bicycle.  We picked up the "Gravel Buster" bike in a box at T*get, and Scott showed his Super Dad side by being both willing and able to put the bike together with Jack's "assistance".  I conveniently went for a walk by myself immediately after snapping this photo:

By the time I got back from my walk, Jack was ready to roll, complete with Lightening McQueen bike helmet and bell.

With a little help from Scott and a set of training wheels, Jack was riding down the driveway in no time. The Gravel Buster actually does a fair job of handling the terrain!

Later that week, Jack proudly donated his old trike to his day care.  We had to get him a bigger helmet almost immediately, and I'm sure we'll be looking for a larger Gravel Buster next spring.  Who knows: maybe by then we won't even need training wheels.

I've had that yarny feeling these days too. Once September hits, I can't stop myself. More yarn than I know what to do with...making a baby blanket for my friend who is pregnant. Lots of pastels. Looking good so far ;)
